St. Petersburg 4800

Description

The St. Petersburg Collection embodies the Russian penchant for combining Orientalism and Western Styling. At the heart of the crystal light are powerful bas reliefs as in antique gold of simple diamond and triangular shapes. These stark bands with black backgrounds stand in strong contrast to the opulent crystals they serve. Pure crystal drops form concentric circles at the top, center and base giving an impression of grandeur and stateliness. A double crystal bobeche at the top finishes this majestic fixture. Similar Neo-Rocco fixtures are found in the Suite of Seven Rooms found in the South wing of the Kremlin. That passage is dominated by large drop chandeliers.
